Dr. Sarah Nohl
I provide psychotherapy and skills-based training for adults and older adolescents to help with a variety of concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, relationship and identity issues, adjustment difficulties, parenting stress, and personality disorders.
My approach is empathic and collaborative. I work with clients to identify their goals for therapy and tailor treatment according to individual needs. In addition to facilitating insight, I help to access strengths and build skills for regulating emotions and coping with challenges. I have been in practice for 10+ years.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
After completing my A.B at Dartmouth College with a major in Psychological and Brain Sciences and a minor in Education and Human Development, I earned my M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Virginia.
I completed my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in downtown Chicago. I received specialized training in cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy in an adult and adolescent community clinic. As chief postdoctoral fellow, I continued to provide treatment to people with a broad range of presenting concerns while also gaining specialized training in adolescent mental health and the treatment of personality disorders in adults.
I have been providing outpatient therapy and assessment services in group and independent private practice for 10+ years. I am currently a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Massachusetts Psychological Association (MPA) and value opportunities to continuing learning.
